I’m going on a trip next week, during which time I’m limited to a backpack, so will be very choosy as to what I bring along, as well as be limited to liquids of under 3oz. As I pack up my backpack, I realized I have a few travel trinkets I’ll be bringing along with me that you might not find in a typical persons suitcase, and I wanted to share them with you.
1. Tongue scraper: Although this may resemble a medieval torture device, it’s actually quite a wonderful (and harmless) tool to use after bushing your teeth. A lot of bacteria resides on our tongues, and a mere swipe of the toothbrush over the tongue sometimes doesn’t quite do the trick. The tongue scraper (as seen to the right) is gently swiped over the tongue after brushing and effectively removes bacteria. This is great to prevent illness (the less bacteria in your mouth the better), improve overall oral health, improve your sensation of taste, and even improve the experience of kissing! This is because your taste buds are more exposed and sensitive to touch. It’s also great for getting rid of bad breath!
2. Digestive Enzymes:
Enzymes are our life force. They help us with all our daily functions, give us energy, help repair organs and the skin, and of course, digest our food! These digestive enzymes are great to take right before a meal to help ease digestion– improving your vitamin and mineral absorption and preventing tummy upset. I’m a big fan of these ones in particular (the ones in the box) because they come in small travel packets that you can take on the go, whether it’s on a trip or to a day at the office! They are especially good to take when you are going some place foreign, to help support your body in acclimating to new food, water, and atmosphere. You can give them a try here
. You might just fall in love.
3. Prenatal Vitamins:
Nope, I’m not pregnant. But these vitamins ARE awesome. They are isotonic, which means that when mixed with water they are designed to be the same pressure as your body fluids. This means that the body has less work to do in obtaining maximum absorption. Little nutritive value is lost, making the absorption of nutrients highly efficient while delivering maximum results. You can take them as an alternative to a multi-vitamin, and I’ve heard my clients rave that while taking them, their skin brightens up and their hair feels silkier and more voluminous! Yes, please! You can give them a try here
4. Thinkbaby Sunscreen SPF 50+:
Sunscreens can get tricky. You want to protect yourself from the sun, but don’t want to rub chemicals into your body all the meanwhile! Why not try a sunscreen so safe they recommend it for babies? And on that thought, why don’t we treat ourselves with the safety we would treat our babies? Give this one a go! You can find it here.
5. Lavilin Underarm Deodorant Cream 10cc:
The other day I went into the local Walgreen’s to pick up a deodorant stick. As I picked up my Dove bar, my friend proceeded to lecture me on the dangers on Aluminum. My response? Yes, I realize I’m rubbing heavy metals into my body, but I’ve also tried multiple different “natural” deodorants, and spent all of those trials stinking! Well, this sent me on a quest to truly find one that worked. Luckily, a few people have already done the trial’ing for me! This Deodorant Cream by Lavilin not only works, but it also last for DAYS (even through the shower!), making it a great addition to my travel bag! Check it out and smell like roses here!
6. DEET-free Buzz Away Extreme:
Ahhh yes, the lovely DEET filled big sprays! I picked up this one from Whole Foods, along with All Terrain’s Anti-Itch Cream (anticipating when I WILL get bit). They’re both DEET-free. Hooray!
So where am I going? Keep posted and I’ll let you know next week!
Got any ideas for items to add to this list?
What do you like to bring on trip with you?
Write below! I’d love to hear!
Yum, yummm! Just finished a big bowl of this as a part of my 7-Day Cleanse & Reboot! I sprinkled some hemp seeds on top for a little nuttiness and texture. For those of you not familiar with hemp seeds, they are delicious and GREAT to add to soups, salads, veggie sides, smoothies, and yogurt.
Like flax, hemp is a high protein seed, with a balanced ratio of omega 3 to 6 fats, fiber, and vitamin E! Unlike some other protein sources, hemp protein is very easily digested, which means for you, that you won’t feel bloated after eating it, but rather strong and energized!
